Which pencil is yours?
Whose permission did you take?

In the above sentences, the words which and whose are used with the nouns pencil and permission respectively.
Since these words are used with nouns to ask questions, they are called Interrogative Adjectives.

Remember:- What is used to ask questions in the general sense and which are used to ask questions in the selective sense.
