Past Progressive Tense

Teddy was walking on the road.

The above sentence shows that Teddy was walking at sometime in the past. To show an action which was happening (was in progress) at sometime in the past, we use the Past Progressive Tense.
To get Past Progressive Tense we write the past tense of to be (was/were) and add 'ing' to the verb in the present tense
E.g. was coming.

Remember: - 'Was' is added in the case of singular nouns/pronouns
E.g. She was coming.

Where is added in the case of plural nouns/pronouns.
E.g. They were coming.
