Present Tense and Past Tense

Teddy eating honey from a jar Teddy with empty jar in her hand
Teddy eats honey Teddy ate honey

In the first picture we see what Teddy is doing now i.e. at present.
Verbs, which show what is happening in the present are said to be in the present tense.

In the second picture we see what Teddy had already done i.e. what happened in the past.
Verbs which show what has already happened are said to be in the past tense.

Remember: - while writing in the present tense we add 's' or 'es' to the verb when the subject (noun/pronoun) is in the singular.
E.g. he eats a mango.
We do not add 's' or 'es' to the verb if the subject is I or you. (singular)
